What is MICE?
The Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) is Australia’s premier specialty coffee expo.
It is the largest dedicated coffee show in Asia Pacific.
How did we get to MICE?
Initially, we were not able to attend MICE2019 as we work weekends. Thankfully the trade show commenced on Thursday and we managed to obtain complimentary passes for MICE. Woohoo!
What went down at MICE 2019?
MICE was held from February 7th to 9th at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) for the first time.
It welcomed more than 120 exhibitors, featuring the latest in espresso equipment, coffee brewing devices, exotic and expensive coffee beans, roasting equipment, and more.
According to the MICE website, a total of 11,978 people attended MICE 2019 over the three days of the show, surpassing the previous attendance record set by the year before!
A testament to the continued growth and evolution of Australia’s coffee industry.
We started the day right with a flight of coffee and toast by Coffee Supreme.
Adore Coffee Roasters brought the flavours of summer.
We cupped.
And cupped..
And cupped...
Till we were so sick of coffee. Thankfully there were some great alternatives to help us take our mind off coffee.
Lunch by Dee’s Dee’s Fried Chicken Shack was a welcome respite from caffeine.
